Say hello to Crwydryn – Ysgol Sadwrn’s brand new mascot. With a curious heart and an empty passport ready to be filled, he’s eager for adventure! He’s no ordinary soft toy. Crwydryn will be a travelling friend to Ysgol Sadwrn learners, on a mission to visit families and learners wherever they are in the world.
With his friendly smile, Crwydryn is about to set off to bring a small piece of Ysgol Sadwrn to homes far and wide. He’ll be learning about new cultures, taking part in family activities, and sharing the Welsh language and stories wherever he goes. Whether it’s baking in Brussels, hillwalking in the Highlands, or singing Welsh nursery rhymes in Sydney – Crwydryn will be there, taking photos, collecting stamps in his passport, and making friends all around the world.
Each family that welcomes Crwydryn will add a new story to his travel journal, sharing a glimpse into their lives and how they celebrate and use the Welsh language. We’ll be following his adventures online, creating a patchwork of his journey as he connects our learners and communities across the world.
A huge thank you to Seren for the design! Seren won our mascot design competition and successfully captured the spirit and aspirations of Ysgol Sadwrn in one character. Crwydryn’s adventures will remind us that language and friendship have no borders. Wherever we are in the world, we’re all part of one big Welsh-speaking family.
