A Fun and Flavorful Learning Experience

In our recent unit, we explored the delicious world of food, and what a tasty adventure it was! From learning the names of fruits and vegetables to discovering the different meals we eat throughout the day, this unit was filled with fun and educational activities. It was also the perfect opportunity to practice telling the time, as we discussed meal times and their sequence. We had a blast planning the ultimate picnic, ordering food for a birthday party, and learning about traditional Welsh food. One of the highlights was watching Caradog the Chef make a dog’s dinner of his cawl, leaving us in stitches.

We didn’t just learn about food—we baked and cooked at home! Through singing, rhyming, and even creating our own recipes, the unit was an interactive experience that appealed to all our senses. Whether preparing a virtual meal or playing food-related games, every activity brought us closer to being able to communicate easily about food in Welsh.

As we wrap up this fun-filled unit, we’re already looking forward to the next one. The theme School begins on the last weekend of May, and we can’t wait to dive into it together. Before we finish, we have to mention the special effort from Sioned and Catrin preparing pizzas. In the photo, you can see them adding their favorite toppings on their dough. What a tasty creation!
